The Bandai Festival began in 1948 (Showa 23) to commemorate and honor those who perished in the eruption of Mount Bandai in 1888 (Meiji 21). With the dual themes of "gratitude" and "prayer," the festival features mystical torchlight processions led by the sacred fire of Mount Bandai, the Aizu Bandai-san communal dance, music parades, fire lettering displays, stage events, and more. Every year, the venue bustles with many visitors. We warmly invite everyone to come on the day and enjoy the wide array of events. Location: Inawashiro Town area.
