It is now called "Bappaka Shishimai," but in the past, it was also known as "Ko Sasara Mai." The name is said to have originated from the sound of the drum attached to the belly, which sounds like "bappaka bappaka." It has been designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Chiba Prefecture.
