This exhibition features over 300 works by world-famous ukiyo-e artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Tōshūsai Sharaku, Utagawa Kunisada, and more. Utilizing 3DCG animation and projection mapping, it presents vivid digital art that can be enjoyed by both adults and children. Immerse yourself in the world of ukiyo-e within nine immersive visual spaces at this digital art museum. In addition to digital displays, there are also exhibitions of renowned ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period and their reproductions, with explanations about the history of ukiyo-e, Edo culture, and the ukiyo-e artists.
The “Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition FUKUOKA” introduces Fukuoka’s own ukiyo-e works through unique local spaces. Not only does it delve deeply into the artistic value of ukiyo-e, but it also provides easy-to-understand content explaining the lifestyle and entertainment of Edo culture.
