Niijima Open Water Swimming is an event held annually in July on Niijima Island, featuring triathlon, marathon, and open water competitions. Participants compete on three courses: 4.5km, 3km, and 1.5km. Since it takes place on Saturday afternoon, you can also enjoy sightseeing around Niijima over the weekend alongside the event. For sightseeing, we recommend the free outdoor hot springs (swimsuit required) and the Niijima Glass Art Center.
