Inuyama Festival
犬山祭
The Inuyama Festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, features a parade of thirteen three-tiered floats (yama), accompanied by flutes and drums, showcasing mechanical dolls (karakuri ningyo). At night, about 365 paper lanterns are lit on each float, and the sight of them weaving through the castle town lined with cherry blossoms in full bloom is as gorgeous and splendid as a brocade painting.
