Enshrining the four Sumiyoshi deities as well as the founder of the Muramatsu clan, Sumiyoshi Shrine's annual festival is affectionately known as the "Lord's Shrine." The festival features the display of "Chanchako Babasa" Takasago dolls and lanterns. On the night of the 28th, with lively shouts, a boat-shaped portable shrine parades through the shopping street, heightening the festival spirit. Stalls also line up during the night festivities.
