The Ogoto Onsen Summer Fireworks Festival is a classic summer event held around the Ogoto Onsen Port area. Set against one of Lake Country's most famous hot spring resorts, vibrant fireworks light up the lake and night sky. Access is easy by walking or driving from JR Ogoto Onsen Station (there is no dedicated parking). The panoramic fireworks view from the lakeshore is a highlight around the venue. With many ryokan nearby, numerous guests relax and enjoy the fireworks while staying in hot spring inns. People in yukata create a lively atmosphere unique to an onsen town. This year's main highlight is the launch of about 1,200 fireworks, unique to Ogoto Onsen, all at once. There will also be collaborations with local inns and event-exclusive performances.
