Mitsuke City Intangible Folk Cultural Property "Oguri-yama Lion Dance"
見附市無形民俗文化財「小栗山の獅子舞」
The event is called "Oguri-yama Lion Dance." It is held every August in Oguriyama Town, Mitsuke City, Niigata Prefecture, and is a traditional performing art designated as an intangible folk cultural asset that has been passed down for over 300 years.
It consists of two lineages: the "Furyu Lion" and the "Lion Kagura." The performance is staged at Fudoin Temple as a dedicatory dance for the Kanzeon Grand Festival.
