Mayudama Market
繭玉市
The Mayudama Market is a traditional Japanese festival held on January 13th every year at Tokusho-ji Temple in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. This event symbolizes prayers for business prosperity and good fortune and also shows respect for Kokuzo Bosatsu, the guardian deity associated with the Year of the Ox and Tiger. Its origins trace back to 1739 when it began as an event to pray for the cultivation of silkworms, but it has since evolved into a more general platform for wishing for business success.
