Nasu Shrine Reitaisai

那須神社例大祭
The Nasu Shrine Reitaisai, known as an autumnal event, captivates people with its historical background and traditional programs. Hosted at a location said to honor the Seii Taishogun Sakanoue Tamuramaro, the festival's main events are the Gagaku music dedication and the splendid Yabusame. Especially Yabusame offers a precious experience that brings ancient mounted martial arts to the present. Additionally, community-engaged children's sumo and lion dances also add excitement, warmly welcoming visitors. Don’t miss the historic sword offered by Nasu Yoichi and the nationally designated important cultural property tower gate. When visiting, immerse yourself in the local culture and history, and enjoy the events held inside and outside the shrine to the fullest. For instance, watching Yabusame up close is highly recommended to feel its power. Also, indulge in food stalls featuring local ingredients to fully savor the festival atmosphere.
