The Fukaya Festival has its origins in the 'Yasaka Festival' where the Sanja Tenno, originally at Fukaya Castle, was moved here during the Tenwa era and worshipped, boasting a history of over 300 years. The main events of the festival include a mikoshi parade, dashi and yatai parade, among others, with a variety of events lined up.
