Jujō Fuji-ko Festival
十条冨士講祭礼
The Jujō Fuji-ko Festival (O-Fuji-san) is a festival held in conjunction with the opening of Mount Fuji!
Precious childhood memories of rushing to the bustling festival with friends after school, clutching pocket money... "O-Fuji-san" is a special two-day event where the usually quiet school route becomes lively with a large number of visitors. The "Jujō Fuji-ko Festival" is also known as the "Jujō Fuji Shrine Festival" or "O-Fuji-san" and takes place over two days on June 30th and July 1st, coinciding with the opening of Mount Fuji. During these days, approximately 400 meters of stalls line both sides of the normally quiet residential streets between Jujō and Higashi-Jujō. Legend has it that worshiping by climbing the Fuji Mound on this day confers the same benefits as worshiping by climbing Mount Fuji itself.
