The "Bunkyo Azalea Festival," one of the "Five Great Festivals of Bunkyo Flowers," is held every April at Nezu Shrine. During the festival, about 3,000 azaleas of approximately 100 varieties bloom in the "Azalea Garden," and there are fun events such as the performance of the Nezu Gongen Daiko drums and mock stalls. Admission to the shrine grounds is free. An admission fee of 500 yen (donation) is required to enter the Azalea Garden.
