On the memorial day of Ariwara no Narihira, the poet of the dynasty, his portrait is displayed in the main hall and irises and kakitsubata are used for decoration to honor his virtues. On this day, the Tahoto pagoda (an important cultural property) adorned with paintings of the eight patriarchs of Shingon is opened to visitors.
