Sagami Kokufu Festival

相模国府祭
With over a thousand years of history dating back to the Heian period, this festival is designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Kanagawa Prefecture, where the six shrines of Sagami gather. There is a procession of mikoshi (portable shrines) from each shrine, and at Aiyojiba (Baba Park), the 'Heron Dance' is performed on a boat-shaped stage, along with various religious rites. The Shinto ritual of 'Zamondo' held at Kamigoroyama is particularly well-known. Also known as the 'Tenka Festival'.
