At Ofusa Kannon, the "Wind Chime Festival" is held every year for three months during the summer. Over 2,500 wind chimes are hung in the precincts, and the way they sway in the summer breeze and produce a refreshing melody all at once is truly a sight to behold. This is a moving experience that only those who have tasted it can understand. There are exhibitions and sales of wind chimes collected from all over Japan, and the "Night Festival" which features enchanting scenery is also held. This event, which started in 2003, has now become known as a symbol of summer in Yamato, attracting many visitors from various regions. The sound of wind chimes reverberating throughout the precincts will ward off evil and bring pleasant coolness to everyone.
