In the Kannon Temple located in Nyuzen, a stone Buddha believed to be carved by Gyoki during his tour of the Hokuriku region is enshrined. The Kannon Festival held at this temple has been a traditional event since the Taisho era. Over the three-day festival period, the city becomes bustling with street vendors from within and outside Toyama Prefecture, and the festival is still loved by the locals. On the first day, sutra chanting and prayer ceremonies are held, on the second day, sutra chanting, a grand Buddhist service, hymn singing, and prayers are conducted, and on the third day, sutra chanting takes place.
