One of the four major festivals in Saito, this event features stage performances such as the Goshin-gumi taikodai, which has a history of over 100 years, as well as a citywide group dance, Japanese drumming, and dance shows. The highlight of the festival is the spectacular "taikodai" (drum float). You can see them on the first and last days, when over 200 young people carry a single taikodai and parade through the streets, competing to topple each other's floats. Every year, many children and visitors from inside and outside the city gather to make the festival lively, bringing Saito's summer to a grand crescendo.
