The "Dawn Festival Hamakudari," which heralds the arrival of full-fledged summer in the Shonan area. At this Hamakudari Festival, starting with the Samukawa Shrine, 34 shrines and 39 splendid, gorgeously decorated mikoshi from Samukawa and Chigasaki participate in the procession. At the festival site, the stirring cries of "Dokko-i, Dokko-i" and the sight of the magnificent and gallant mikoshi dancing wildly on the dawn shore bathed in the rising sun attract around 90,000 spectators, enveloping the area in their heated excitement.
