At Naminoue Shrine, after the Shinto rituals and dance offerings, the traditional performing art “Kataname” (designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of the city) leads the divine procession and parades through the town. “Kataname” is a collective term for five types of dances: naginata dance, sword dance, bow dance, rice field god dance, and demon deity dance.
