Sekibaji Temple New Year’s Eve Bell Ringing and Udon Serving (Free)

At Sekibaji Temple, we have been offering a free “New Year’s Eve Udon” (instead of the usual “Toshikoshi Soba”) to everyone who comes to worship on New Year’s Eve. Last year it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year it will return. The schedule from New Year’s Eve through New Year’s countdown is as follows. We look forward to welcoming you. Please note that the temple is not open for sightseeing. *It gets very cold, so please come dressed warmly. ●23:00–23:50 ・Udon Serving (limited to 100 servings, while supplies last – please arrive early.) ●23:30– ・New Year’s Eve Bell Ringing (first 108 people, first-come, first-served)

Place:Horse Temple 'Sekibaji'

Transportation:Public Transportation Take the JR Biwako Line to Notogawa Station, then a 5-minute bus ride to the “Sekibaji” stop, followed by a 10-minute walk. By Car On the Meishin Expressway, if coming from the Kyoto direction exit at Ryuo IC; if coming from the Nagoya direction exit at Hikone IC. Continue onto National Route 8, turn north at the “Gokasho Minami” intersection, and drive 2 km. Park at the foot of the mountain and walk 5 minutes. Parking 10 regular car spaces
