Shimotsuko Ichisha Hachimangu Autumn Festival
下野國一社八幡宮秋祭
The Shimotsuko Ichisha Hachimangu Autumn Festival is a celebration of Japanese culture held at a historic shrine. Founded in the Heian period, it was established by Minamoto no Yoshiie to pray for victory in battle, and features the sacred Kagura dance, which is designated as an intangible cultural property of Ashikaga City, every year. Visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese dance and music at the festival and interact with local people while immersing themselves in the culture. The shrine itself is a place that tells the history of the ancient city, and its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture are must-see. Additionally, special events unique to the autumn festival are prepared, making it worth visiting. Access is easy via public transportation or car, allowing visitors to participate with ease. Participants are encouraged to experience Japan's rich history and culture firsthand, especially enjoying the dance of Kagura. This festival provides a heartwarming experience and will offer you a new perspective.
