Suwa Shrine Spring Festival Daimyo Procession

諏訪神社春季大祭大名行列
The Suwa Shrine Spring Festival features a grand procession with 300 participants, centered around the priests and the mikoshi. The parade also includes tengu and kagura, offering a historical event where traditional Shinto rituals and the common people come together. Additionally, the must-see 'Mai-komi' begins when the procession returns to the shrine, featuring a majestic and solemn performance with drums and mikoshi that highlights the climax of the festival. On the eve, street vendors line Taniuchi Street, enhancing the festival atmosphere. It's recommended to wander the night streets while enjoying local food and games. The festival also features limited local cuisine and specialty products, making it worth a visit. Participants are encouraged to experience the full plan from night vendor tours to the morning's grand procession and the 'Mai-komi.' This event allows for a full day of immersing in Japanese traditional culture and is definitely worth attending.
