Kami-Nara Zuiki Mikoshi

上奈良ずいきみこし
Zuiki Mikoshi is the festival of Misono Shrine, reportedly dating back to the 6th year of Enryaku (787), during the era of Emperor Kanmu, when three deities were relocated from Kasuga-taisha in Nara. This area, called 'Nara's Misono', previously cultivated vegetables such as melons, eggplants, and radishes for the royal court. Zuiki Mikoshi retains this legacy, using taro stems to thatch the roof and decorating with 30 types of vegetables harvested that year, making it one of the representative autumn festivals to thank for abundant crops and has been passed down over generations.
