The Kumamoto City Modern Art Museum will host an exhibition by illustrator Toshinori Yonemura, who was born in Kumamoto and currently resides in Oita. Since his 20s, Yonenura has been involved in a wide range of illustration and design work for stores in Kumamoto. His hand-drawn illustrations utilizing his architectural foundation have become a means to understand the world, things, and spaces.
This exhibition will utilize three spaces within the museum as venues to showcase archives of his work, three-dimensional art pieces such as drawings and objects, as well as ZINEs and goods created with his family. The interior of the Kumamoto City Modern Art Museum will transform into an enjoyable space reminiscent of a city walk.
