This is a festival in the Hime District where six giant Sodekiriko parade through the town accompanied by drums and festival music. The highlight is when three of the Sodekiriko are carried down to the water's edge at the boat launch, two Tsunbo poles are inserted into the Sodekiriko stands, and they are lifted in time with the drums and music to be loaded onto the traditional boats. Once loading is complete, the lights of the Sodekiriko illuminate the surface of the sea as they cruise through the harbor, and with fireworks bursting overhead, the entire area is wrapped in a magical atmosphere.
