Kōbō Daishi Dedication Fireworks Festival

弘法大師奉納花火大会
The Kōbō Daishi Dedication Fireworks Festival, held on August 21st, is an annual event to console the spirit of Kōbō Daishi. It features fireworks launched from Terayama, north of Shuzenji Temple, which is rare as it is launched from a mountainside in Japan. The Niagara fireworks set up on the river that flows through the hot spring town should not be missed. Together with the Buddhist procession during the Autumn Mantoe held the day before the fireworks festival, let's visit Shuzenji in Izu. On the day of the fireworks, stalls will be lined up within and in front of Shuzenji Temple, creating a lively temple festival.
