Generally, Obon is from August 13th to 15th, but Shuzenji, due to its historical ties to the busy silkworm season, celebrates Obon from August 1st to 3rd. The temple grounds are adorned with yagura, and many lanterns are lit... The sound of drums resonates with the music of the Bon dance. Local residents, as well as tourists, are warmly welcomed.
