A traditional performing art that originated in the Azuchi-Momoyama period and has been handed down for over 400 years. On January 31, 1978, it was designated as the Intangible Folk Cultural Property of "Ano Ningyo Shibai," and on January 28, 1980, it was also designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of the nation.
