Izawa Shrine Rice Planting Ceremony

伊雑宮御田植式
Events such as the "Bamboo Grabbing Ritual," where brave men compete for the sacred bamboo (imidade) adorned with a large fan, and the "Rice Planting Ritual," conducted by people dressed in traditional attire, are held. Afterwards, as participants sing “Medetamedeta,” there is the “Odorikomi,” a procession towards the first torii gate of Izawa Shrine, where you can witness various scenes.
It is designated as a National Important Intangible Cultural Property (designation name: Isobe’s Sacred Rice Field).
