The Serada Gion Festival, which once flourished as one of the three major festivals in the Kanto region, has been revived and is held annually on the fourth Saturday of July.
The festival’s main highlight is the parade of the large Serada Gion floats, which were made 200 years ago. Eight magnificent, elaborately decorated floats proceed in a line. After the parade, the floats enter Serada Park, where each float from different areas performs its own unique festival music.
