10th Anniversary Exhibition Lives—Selected Works from the Toyama Glass Art Museum Collection

開館10周年記念Livesライブズ―富山市ガラス美術館所蔵品選

This exhibition focuses on approximately 50 works created by 21 artists, selected from around 600 pieces in the collection of Toyama Glass Art Museum, to showcase the "Lives" expressed in each piece.

The words "life" and "live" contain various meanings such as "existence," "living beings," "lifestyle," and "movement." These are not only words that express our current state and existence, but have also been major themes explored by many artists since ancient times.

Furthermore, in 2025, the museum will celebrate its 10th anniversary since opening. Over these ten years—which can feel both long and short—we have experienced not only peaceful everyday life, but also events such as global pandemics, major natural disasters like earthquakes, and the outbreak of wars.

The environment and circumstances surrounding us are changing rapidly. Even at this very moment, we continue to face events and turning points that make us question the way and value of “life." Through the expressions of "life" in the exhibited works, the delicate yet powerful forms, and the visually and auditorily stimulating experiences that stir emotions and memories, we hope this serves as an opportunity to look anew at ourselves and those around us, and to contemplate together how to live and move forward in these turbulent times.
