Collection Exhibition: Glass × Painting
コレクション展 ガラス×えがく
The word "egaku(えがく)" not only refers to drawing pictures or diagrams, but also encompasses a wide range of meanings, such as depicting scenes or envisioning images in the mind. When a creator wishes to preserve irreplaceable moments—whether of imaginary worlds, landscapes from memory, or feelings invisible to the eye—in tangible form, what kinds of expressions emerge when this desire is brought together with glass? This exhibition focuses on "glass" and "drawing/depicting," introducing works across three chapters.
The first chapter features works created by directly drawing lines and painting on the glass by hand. The second chapter presents pieces that utilize the inherent qualities of glass and attempt to depict using the material itself. The third chapter introduces works expressed by carving, scraping, or processing the glass.
We hope you enjoy the unique world of "depiction" that only glass can offer.
