The mikoshi, which has toured the castle town area of Takada, descends the Sekigawa River by boat towards the Naoetsu area, and as it arrives in Naoetsu, the fireworks display begins. As large shells and starmine fireworks are launched one after another, 19 festival floats illuminated by lanterns perform Gion festival music along the riverbank to welcome the mikoshi. The combination of lanterns, fireworks, and festival music creates a fantastical atmosphere throughout the area. While the fireworks bursting high in the sky are impressive, the sight of the fireworks reflected on the surface of the sea is particularly captivating.
