Kannon Bon Sennichie & Sendaizou Bon

観音盆千日会・千躰地蔵盆
Held annually on August 9th, it is said that visiting Kannon on this day grants the merit of one thousand days. During the day, a memorial service for the deceased is held at the Jizo Hall, and at night, the Million-Bead Rosary is recited by the devout in the Main Hall. About two thousand Jizo statues erected along the approach path, as well as lanterns made and dedicated by local children and elders, are illuminated by candlelight, drawing many worshippers, mainly families. The local specialty “Longevity Somen” is also served free of charge throughout the day.
