As in past years, around 11:00 PM the New Year's Eve bell is rung by worshippers to dispel the "108 earthly desires." The first 100 visitors will also be served toshikoshi udon (year-crossing udon). From midnight, the Shusho-e ceremony is conducted inside the main hall.
