Special Viewing of the Inner Sanctuary of Yokogawa Chudo

横川中堂内陣特別拝観
The special opportunity to view the inner sanctuary of Yokokawa Chudo allows visitors to admire the statue of the Sacred Kannon Bodhisattva up close—something that is normally only possible from a distance. Yokokawa Chudo is a unique building modeled after a ship sent to Tang China, serving as a central point in the Yokokawa area. The Sacred Kannon Bodhisattva enshrined deep within the inner sanctuary (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property) is said to be the work of Priest Jikaku Daishi Ennin, which further deepens the sacred atmosphere. Highlights of this event include not only the principal image of the Sacred Kannon Bodhisattva, but also the statues of Bishamonten and Fudo Myoo flanking it on each side, along with the delicate designs found throughout the inner sanctuary. Visitors will have rare access to areas normally restricted, offering the chance to closely observe the historical Buddhist statues and the architectural beauty in detail. As this is a limited-time event, the opportunity to appreciate these valuable statues up close in the inner sanctuary is available only during this period. You will be able to experience a sense of serenity in this special space. Take your place in the front row, gaze upon the sacred face of the principal image, and engrave its beauty and dignity in your memory. After your visit, it is also recommended to immerse yourself in the lingering atmosphere while enjoying the historical scenery surrounding the temple.
