Maples of Hiei
比叡のもみじ
The autumn leaves of Hiei are held in the historically rich Yokawa region of Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hiei. Starting from the parking lots along the Okuhiei Driveway, you can enjoy both the vibrant colors of the autumn foliage and the tranquility of the mountains at the same time. Access is available by both public transportation and car, and the parking lots can accommodate many types of vehicles.
Around the event venue, there are historical sites such as Enryakuji Temple and beautiful natural scenery. You can experience each unique charm, such as tunnels of maple trees, serene approach paths, and perfect photo spots with breathtaking views.
There are also stalls offering locally exclusive specialties and warm drinks that can only be tasted here. The seasonal presentations, only available to visitors, will warm your heart.
For those who have read this far, we strongly recommend an early morning stroll amidst the autumn leaves in the gentle light of dawn. It is an exceptional time when there are few people and you can fully immerse yourself in the special tranquility surrounded by the mountains and nature.
