Mount Watamuki has long been revered and beloved by many people, becoming a symbol of the town. In 1996, the town established “Watamuki Mountain Day” (set on November 10th in reference to its elevation). Every year, the Fureai Watamuki Mountain Day Executive Committee organizes events aimed at climbers. * In 2020, the event was cancelled to prevent the spread of COVID-19. * From 2021 onwards, no on-mountain events are planned; only awareness activities for mountain safety measures will be conducted.
